Most of what gets reported as an outage is not one. These are the patterns worth telling apart before you assume the network is at fault.

- Step outside before assuming an outage. Building materials block signal far more often than networks fail.
- Bars showing but nothing loads
- That is a data problem rather than a coverage one, and it is the pattern a real network fault usually takes.
- Calls work, data does not

How this map is built
Every square is a US state or the District of Columbia, shaded by how many people reported a mobile problem there in the last hour. Reports come from visitors to this site and are not verified by any provider.
Your own area is worked out from your connection, not from your device location, so there is no permission prompt and nothing precise is stored. A low count does not prove service is healthy, and a high one does not confirm an official outage. For that, each provider page links straight to the provider's own status page where one exists.
