How it works
Where the data comes from
Entirely from visitors. When something stops working, people report it here. Enough reports from one area in a short window indicates a problem beyond any single household.
What a count does and does not mean
A high count means many people reported a problem. It does not confirm an official outage, and a low count does not prove service is healthy. Reports are unverified by design, because verification would mean depending on the provider, which is the thing this site exists to be independent of.
What we collect
The problem type you select, an optional five-digit ZIP code, a coarse region derived from your connection, and a timestamp. No account, no email address, no precise location, and no IP address stored in the clear.
Abuse handling
Reports are rate limited. Counts below a small floor are not shown as headline figures, and unusual bursts from a single source are discarded.
